Project Brief
Reimagining Medieval Manuscripts Through Childlike Imagination
Players explore an enchanted storybook as a scribbled hero, bringing medieval illustrations to life.

Process
Developing the Visual Style
The visual style evolved through iterative exploration, beginning with reference gathering and rough sketches before progressing into refined concepts and production-ready assets.

Visual Language
A 2D Side-Scrolling World
Intentional contrast pairs vibrant colors and playful sketches with medieval textures and typography, creating a familiar yet unexpected world.

Character Design
A Doodled World
Uneven linework, visible scribble textures, and intentionally imperfect coloring reinforce the feeling that the character has been drawn directly onto the pages of the book.

Interface Layout
Designing the Storybook Framework
The interface was organized around the structure of an open storybook, allowing gameplay to occupy the center while navigation and player information remain accessible along the margins.

UI Kit
Designing for Immersion
A cohesive UI system combining visual contrast and functional components to support an immersive gameplay experience.

User Interface Flow
A simplified interface flow designed to guide players through exploration and interactions with clarity while preserving an immersive storybook experience.
